Landscape Assessment of East West Rail Route Options on Wimpole Hall
Awarded 26 Sep 2018
About
Department For Transport awarded a contract to Landuse for a landscape assessment of the impact of East West Rail route options on Wimpole Hall.
The assessment considered the Grade One listed building and its landscape setting, including a 4 km long avenue running South with views to the Royston Hills, as well as views to the South and the proximity to SSSIs and ancient woodland.
The National Trust, which owns Wimpole Hall and the adjoining estate, sought to ensure that views down the avenue and to the South are not significantly adversely affected by route options that might traverse the avenue or go further South across land currently owned by MoD at RAF Bassingbourn.
The contract value was AUD 26,940.
