About

Rural Payments Agency awarded a contract to Compass Informatics for geospatial analytics and remote monitoring services, valued at £9,691,693.27.

The contract required the implementation of a minimum viable product within twelve months and core functionality including using imagery sources to identify farm habitats, monitoring land use and cover changes related to farming activities, extracting markers from imagery, ingesting imagery and data from other RPA and Defra Group systems, publishing outputs to those systems, monitoring compliance with scheme agreements for land parcels, and enabling users to utilise the solution in the field and add their own imagery sources and ground truth data.

The contract also covered product delivery, user-centred services, IT service management, and hosting, with the capability to introduce future services such as integrating additional imagery sources, provisioning additional imagery sources, developing new data products and markers, and integrating with other RPA and Defra Group systems.

The option was provided for other Defra Group Bodies and UK Paying Agencies to utilise the contract.
