About

Highways England awarded a contract to Atkins for finalising the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) signing strategy and preliminary sign designs on the Strategic Road Network (SRN).

The work involved modifying the draft signing strategy to enable publication, incorporating lessons learned from preliminary designs for the Greater Manchester CAZ.

It also included finalising preliminary designs for signs across the extensive Greater Manchester CAZ area, including gantry signs requiring capacity assessments, to support cities such as Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Newcastle, Bristol, and Greater Manchester in their CAZ implementation plans.

The contract value was £43,027.92.
