About

DSIT awarded a contract to The Visionarys Ltd for a project evaluating the effectiveness and economic impact of UK and Western IT services and software sanctions on Russia.

The project assesses how UK-imposed IT consultancy, design, and sectoral software and technology sanctions have degraded Russia's economy or capability and prevented circumvention of similar sanctions by UK allies such as the US and EU.

It identifies the most impacted software and IT services categories, explores the feasibility of quantifying economic losses and strategic effects from reduced access to UK and Western-origin software and IT services, and evaluates enforcement mechanisms.

The project also quantifies the effect of equivalent sanctions by UK allies.

The contract value is £60,000.
