Emergency Procurement of Health Commodities for Ghana After Central Medical Store Fire
Awarded 01 Mar 2015
About
The Department for International Development awarded a contract to The Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations Ltd for the emergency procurement of health commodities following a fire at Ghana's Central Medical Store.
The fire destroyed up to 12 months of key health supplies, including family planning commodities, TB treatments, malaria bed-nets, rapid diagnostic kits, anti-retroviral and Ebola-related supplies.
DFID's individual loss was estimated at approximately £4.3 million, and the contract value was £950,000.
The procurement aimed to replenish DFID's lost commodities, comprising malaria, family planning, and Ebola-related items originally procured in 2014.
