Development of Publicly Accessible Specification for Safe Storage of Lithium-ion Batteries by BSI
Awarded 30 Mar 2022
About
UK Research & Innovation awarded a contract to British Standards Institute Group (BSI) for the development of a base document guide to the safe physical storage of Lithium-ion battery cells, modules and packs, and to develop a pre-standards document that could feed into a future standard.
The contract was awarded via a Direct Award procedure without prior publication under regulation 32(2)(b)(ii) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015, due to competition being absent for technical reasons, as BSI is the only nationally and internationally recognised UK body able to publish Publicly Accessible Standards (PAS).
The contract value is AUD 41,500.
