Development of Information Base on Irradiation Damage (IBID) for Nuclear RPV Steel Embrittlement
Awarded 31 Mar 2015
About
The Department for Work and Pensions awarded a contract to NNL for the development of an information base on irradiation damage (IBID).
The objective was to create a knowledge base on the embrittlement of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steels, a topic of key interest to the UK nuclear industry where expertise is at risk of being lost as key individuals age and retire.
The main vehicle for developing the knowledge base was a state-of-the-art review (SOAR) package, which includes a variety of information sources at different levels of detail associated with a detailed technical review of a specific topic.
The contract value was AUD 20,602.
