Design and Refurbishment of Bourdillon Playground by Proludic for Goring-on-Thames Parish Council

About

Goring-on-Thames Parish Council awarded a contract to Proludic for the design and refurbishment of the Bourdillon playground and adjacent open sports area on Bourdillon Field recreation ground.

The project involved redesigning the fenced playground and grass mound, as well as the unfenced area with a combined basketball net and football goal, to appeal to children aged 2-12 and older users.

Proludic was responsible for recommending equipment, surfacing, and a design that optimised the available space, including accessible and SEN-friendly elements.

The scope included themed play structures, play-frames, slides, multiple swing sets, a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, tactile/sensory activities, log weavers, balance beams, challenging 'risky' play equipment, and a zip wire.

Existing fencing, play equipment, and benches were to be retained, refurbished, or reused where cost-effective.

The contract value was £200,000.
