About

Alvechurch Parish Council awarded a contract to Play & Leisure Limited for the design of a small playground and the supply and installation of playground equipment and safety surfaces at Hopwood Community Recreation Field.

The project included up to two design options: one utilizing existing equipment (swings and slide, if still regulation compliant) and one for a completely new play scheme.

The final scheme was to provide a playground suitable for different age groups and abilities, with popular ideas including monkey bars, rotators, climbing frames, a toddler/junior play unit, and a more challenging item such as a basket swing or rotating items, on new turf and grass matting.

The contract value was £29,999.63 (excluding VAT), within the funding ceiling of £30,000.
