About

Broxtowe Borough Council awarded a contract to P M Harris Limited for the final design and build of a new cycle proficiency training track and a separate cycle path at Ilkeston Recreation Ground, Ilkeston Road, Stapleford, Nottingham NG9 8JL.

The project includes Project A: a mini road network cycle proficiency training facility on approximately 2,650m2, and Project B: an LTN1/20 compliant cycle track around the recreation ground, approximately 610m-615m in length, capable of integrating with a wider off and on road LTN 120 compliant network.

The contract value is £3,900,000.

The works were to be completed by late March 2023 under the JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor's Design 2016 (ICD), signed under seal.

The infrastructure is expected to have a long lifespan, requiring long-lasting materials with minimal maintenance costs.
