About

UK Research & Innovation awarded a contract to Zinc Ventures Limited for the development and delivery of an early-stage, mission-led commercialisation catalyst programme.

The programme aimed to enable collaboration between bioscience and social science researchers by recruiting researchers and building multidisciplinary teams to address agreed team challenges, support skills and capacity development through training, mentoring, peer support, networking, and connections with relevant expertise and national/international markets, and support grant holders in exploring alternative non-traditional commercial enterprise models to create effective and self-sustaining impact.

Grant administration was managed by UKRI.

The contract covered an initial 12-month period with an optional extension of up to 6 months, valued at up to £500,000 for the initial period and £300,000 for the extension, subject to approval.
