About
Cefas awarded a contract to Evolved Research and Consulting Ltd for data collection and outreach campaigns on Abandoned, Lost or otherwise Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG) in Maldives, under the Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP).
The contract, valued at AUD 160,000, involved conducting face-to-face interviews to complete a questionnaire on fisheries and ALDFG data, as well as delivering face-to-face presentations and workshops to raise awareness of ALDFG impacts.
This initiative supports the OCPP's marine pollution strand, focusing on marine plastics and fostering best practices in litter disposal.
