About

Cumberland Council awarded a contract to Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd for the construction of a new leisure facility at Millom School.

The project involved building a new facility including a 15x8m four-lane community pool, a four-court sports hall, a multipurpose studio, café, wet and dry changing rooms, and external access all-weather pitch (AWP) team changing.

The new building connects to the existing school, requiring refurbishment of a small hall to house a fitness suite.

Additional parking was created by demolishing an empty caretaker's cottage, and lost playground space was offset by re-providing it in existing soft landscaped areas.

The school remained operational during construction.

The contract value was AUD 411,718.
