Bassetlaw District Council awarded contract to Nexus Planning for Town Centres Study
Awarded 29 Feb 2016
About
Bassetlaw District Council awarded a contract to Nexus Planning for a Town Centres Study to support the preparation of a new Local Plan.
The study incorporates elements of a traditional Retail Needs Assessment while considering a wider range of town uses alongside retail, including new household surveys of shopping habits.
It provides recommendations on how the authority should treat new proposals for retail development and other town centre uses, addressing the scale and types of floorspace to be planned for through the new Local Plan.
The study covers the centres of Tuxford and Harworth-Bircotes, alongside the larger town centres at Retford and Worksop, and was completed by August 2016.
The contract value was £25,405.
