Award of Purchase of 69kHz Acoustic Tags for Salmon Tracking Study
Awarded Unknown
About
Scottish Government awarded a contract to Thelma Biotel AS for the purchase of 69kHz acoustic tags.
The tags will support Marine Scotland Science's study examining salmon post-smolt movements in a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland.
The study will use Thelma Biotel acoustic receivers (TBR 700) strategically placed near rivers and loch pinch points to examine salmon and sea trout smolt migratory behaviours.
In addition to tags, sentinel tags transmitting 69kHz are required to determine receiver/tag efficiency over time.
This study builds on previous acoustic tracking studies conducted in the loch.
The contract value is £39,030.7.
