Award of ODA Ukraine Timber Project to World Forest ID Association
Awarded 26 Jun 2022
About
Defra Network eTendering Portal awarded a contract to World Forest ID Association for the ODA Ukraine Timber project, valued at £1,126,980.
The project aims to prevent trade in illegally harvested timber from Ukraine, supporting sanctions and trade measures in light of Russia's invasion.
The delivery partner, World Forest ID, working through RBG Kew, has collected a timber reference sample library to enforce due diligence legislation by identifying and determining the origin of imported timber and timber products.
This supports efforts to reduce illegal deforestation and promote climate, nature, and livelihoods outcomes, including sustainability and certification schemes.
