About

The Education and Training Foundation awarded a contract to Blackburn College and Emfec for a graduate training scheme aimed at recruiting, training, supporting and mentoring graduates to teach primarily in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) subject areas, with emphasis on careers aligned to the Sainsbury Review routes.

The scheme supported ancillary costs such as recruitment, initial teacher education (ITE), mentoring and professional support, but not salary costs.

Two consortia/hubs were sourced, led by a general Further Education college, large Independent Training Providers or Higher Education Institutions, to build capacity ahead of the Sainsbury Review implementation.

The contract value was AUD 410,000.
