About

NHS Shared Business Services awarded a contract to Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Library Service for teacher-led English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses aimed at addressing health inequalities in deprived areas of West London CCG.

The courses were part of wider library health information initiatives, including health promotion events with the NHS and engagement with BME and minority organisations.

The contract, valued at £48,000, was anticipated to impact A&E attendance, employability, social and digital inclusion, health and wellbeing, GP service effectiveness and budgets (including generic prescribing and antimicrobial resistance), English language skills, and increased use of library services by learners and their families.
