About

ESPO awarded a contract to TotalEnergies Gas and Power Ltd for the provision of wholesale electricity supplies, with ESPO acting as an intermediary to buy electricity in the wholesale market on behalf of central government, local authorities, public and third sector organisations within England, Wales and Scotland.

The four-year single supplier Framework Agreement required the supplier to hold and maintain an Electricity Supply Licence granted by OFGEM throughout the duration.

The contract value is £960,000,000.

The successful supplier's credit rating, as determined by a recognised credit rating agency, was sampled and used as a baseline for contract monitoring, with monthly variance checks and investigation of negative variances by ESPO.

The supplier must also agree and adhere to mandatory requirements, service levels, and key performance indicators provided in the tender documentation.
