About

Crown Commercial Service awarded a contract to Computershare Investor Services PLC, Tenancy Deposit Solutions Limited, and The Dispute Service Limited for the management and administration of the Custodial Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme under the Housing Act 2004.

The scope included creating new business, transitioning and managing existing deposits from the current provider for the Legacy Pool, maintaining robust IT infrastructure for large-scale data storage, providing a secure method of holding deposits, returning deposits to tenants at tenancy end, and delivering an Alternative Dispute Resolution service for tenant-landlord disputes.

The service provider was required to generate enough interest on deposits to cover costs and ideally pay interest to tenants, and to ensure the scheme operated successfully in both England and Wales.

The agreement was for an initial period of 5 years to 31/03/2021, with options to extend for 2 years and then a further 1 year.
