About
The University of East Anglia awarded a contract to MDCI for staffing costs, travel, and subsistence to contribute a case study to the NAVIGATE (UK NERC) research project.
The case study focuses on an area in Kilwa district of Tanzania selected by project PIs at Aberystwyth and UEA for its innovative community forestry work and connections to the UK through the sale of wood for musical instrument manufacture.
MDCI, the local NGO that initiated and manages this work with communities, was chosen as the sole provider due to its unique history of community engagement, previous research and monitoring data, and staff with necessary local knowledge and skills.
