About

Natural England awarded a contract to B Lyon, Radical Ecology CIC, R St.

John, and NA/FILMS Ltd for four individual artists/creative practitioners to collaborate with different teams in Natural England's Chief Scientist's Directorate.

Each artist will work with a science team to co-create an artwork addressing a brief on evidence/research topics: inspiring collective action on the climate and nature crisis; exploring geology for nature recovery and connection; interpreting DNA research; and translating and learning from scenarios of the future.

The pilots will produce evidence for a research project led by Natural England's social science team, addressing the added value of arts-based research to science and evidence processes and what is needed for successful arts-science collaborations.

The contract value is £47,120, with a maximum of £12,000 per artist (expected minimum £10,000).
