Assessment of Adaptive Capacity of AES Responses to Climate Change
Awarded 05 Dec 2018
About
Defra Network eTendering Portal awarded a contract to the University of Gloucestershire for assessing whether current agri-environment scheme (AES) schemes provide sufficient flexibility to address gradual climate change impacts and changes in extreme weather events while delivering environmental outcomes.
The project examined two aspects: whether climate change impacts affect agreement holders' ability to deliver AES prescriptions and success indicators, and whether AES design and implementation are flexible enough to accommodate environmental changes without adverse effects on desired outcomes.
The contract value was AUD 83,000.
