Asbestos Removal and Decontamination at Gala Social Club by Scancross Environmental
Awarded 07 Jun 2021
About
Buckinghamshire Council awarded a contract to Scancross Environmental for asbestos removal and decontamination at the Gala Social Club.
The work included vacuuming and decontaminating the electrical intake room, wall cavity to the store/tank room, and external fire escape stairs, with air reassurance testing as required.
It also involved setting up a full asbestos enclosure in the boiler room, including a fixed scaffold lift for high-level working, brushing down and cleaning walls and ceiling, vacuuming and decontaminating, and preparing for air testing.
Following a certificate of reoccupation, the boiler room walls were painted with ET150 and labeled as a hazard.
A UKAS accredited laboratory conducted 4-stage clearance testing and issued a certificate of reoccupation.
The contract value was £15,000.
