About

NHS England awarded a contract to Innovas Consulting Solutions Ltd for the analysis of the NHS-funded Children & Young People's Mental Health workforce across Cheshire & Merseyside, valued at £62,400.

The analysis aimed to identify skills, knowledge, learning and development needs.

The project addressed the absence of clear workforce planning and development across CYP MH NHS providers, as highlighted by assurance against national key lines of enquiries.

It supported the development of joint area workforce plans, including workforce information, staff numbers (whole time equivalents), skills, and capabilities.

The work was guided by principles for future NHS workforce decisions, such as securing staff supply, investing in training and education, providing career pathways, ensuring diversity and inclusion, promoting flexible working, and intertwining service, financial, and workforce planning.

The analysis and report provided an understanding of the existing gap.
