About

Department for Education awarded a contract to Deloitte LLP for accountancy services and automated data collection to support the production of the academies Sector Annual Report and Accounts (SARA) in England.

The contract involves validating and adjusting financial and non-financial data from each Academy Trust before consolidation for the SARA, and automating data collection from Academy Trusts to DfE through end-to-end technology transformation.

The Department aims to deliver the SARA more quickly and without audit qualifications, while enhancing financial reporting to increase value and reduce burdens.

The contract includes a three-year term during which the majority of services will be brought in-house, with this extension completing handover and implementation of final tasks.
